29th Annual Interventional Cardiology Fellows Course
Sponsored by the Cardiovascular Research Foundation
The course can accommodate a limited number of eligible fellows who apply. CRF, the course sponsor, will consider current fellows from anywhere in the world. Note that only a small number of complimentary spots are available to fellows outside the United States, Canada, and Mexico. To be considered, all candidates must complete an application with supporting documentation.
Please read the below information carefully for qualifying applicant criteria.
Course organizers will review completed applications on a first-come, first-served basis — so mark your calendar now to set aside time to devote to your application in December!
Selected applicants for Fellows 2024 must attend all assigned sessions and activities.

All fellows accepted via the application process are:
- Awarded full scholarships to cover the course registration fee.
- Provided hotel accommodations for applicable program dates.
- Reimbursed for qualified travel expenses up to US$400.
Application Information
- You must meet all the criteria of one of the tier categories listed below. Please read them carefully.
- You must apply as a fellow of the fellowship program in which you are enrolled at the time of the Fellows Course in April 2024.
- Criteria for consideration are as follow:
- Tier status (see below).
- Date of completed application.
- Space availability.
- You must commit to attend all your assigned sessions and activities at Fellows 2024.
A Note About Deadlines

If You Submit Your Completed Application After the Applicable Deadline
CRF will consider your application if space is still available. Priority will still be based on tier status and date of submission. Notification will be rolling, based on date of submission.
TIER 1
- Current fellow in an interventional cardiology OR in an advanced interventional program (CHIP, structural, endovascular, research).
- Enrolled in a ACGME-accredited program OR a non-ACGME-accredited program.
- Has NOT previously attended the CRF Fellows Course.
- Note: Spots for fellows enrolled in programs outside of the US, Mexico and Canada are limited to the first 20 eligible applicants.
TIER 2
- Current fellow in final-year (3rd- or 4th-year) of cardiovascular disease/general cardiology program.
- Enrolled in a ACGME-accredited OR a non-ACGME-accredited program in the U.S., Canada, or Mexico.
- Confirmed acceptance to an interventional cardiology fellowship.
- Has NOT previously attended the CRF Fellows Course.
TIER 3
- Current fellow in final-year (3rd- or 4th-year) of cardiovascular disease/general cardiology program.
- Enrolled in a ACGME-accredited OR a non-ACGME-accredited program in the U.S., Canada, or Mexico.
- Has NOT previously attended the CRF Fellows Course.
TIER 4
- Fellows who qualify for Tiers 1–3 who have previously attended the CRF Fellows Course (preference given by tier).
After the application-based fellows spots are filled, fellows can attend with attendee registration. Registration opens in December.
Required Supporting Documentation
The following documents must be provided with your application. Missing or incomplete documentation will delay your application.
Required for All tiers
- Completed Program Director’s Endorsement Form (CRF Provided Template):
- For the Fellowship program you are CURRENTLY in at the time of the Fellows Course (April 2024)
- Signed by your current program director.
Tier 2 (including if applicable for Tier 4)
- Completed Program Director Form (CRF Provided Template):
- For the Fellowship program you are CURRENTLY in at the time of the Fellows Course (April 2024)
- Signed by your current program director.
- Letter showing acceptance into a Tier 1 program immediately following your current fellowship program.
If you do not fall into one of the above tiers, including first- and second-year cardiovascular disease/general cardiology fellows, you can register as an attendee. Registration opens in December. Please refer to the registration page for more details.
Getting to and Staying in Las Vegas
- Do not book travel or hotel prior to receiving an acceptance. If accepted, you will be given detailed booking instructions. Application opens in December.
- If you are accepted, your spot in Fellows 2024 is not confirmed unless and until you make your travel reservation by the deadline stated in your acceptance letter.
- You must attend all assigned sessions and activities at Fellows 2024 to be eligible for reimbursement.
- Reimbursements, if applicable, will be processed up to 10 weeks after the completion of the course.
- You will receive additional details about eligible travel reimbursement if you are accepted.
Air Travel
The Cardiovascular Research Foundation will reimburse coach airfare up to US$400 with required documentation.
Arrival and Departure Time
Information will be provided to accepted applicants.
Accommodations
- Reservation: CRF will book and pay for three nights at the Resorts World Las Vegas (room and tax only) for the nights of the program only. Do not book your hotel independently. CRF will not cover or reimburse for reservations made on your own.
- You must be at least 21 years of age and will be required to show a valid government-issued ID upon check-in.
- Credit Card: You will need to provide a credit card upon arrival to guarantee your hotel booking.
- Cancellation Charge: You can cancel without penalty up to three days prior to your scheduled arrival date. If you cancel less than three days before scheduled arrival, you will be charged the one-night room fee and tax. CRF will not reimburse you for this fee.
- Hotel Resort Fee: Resorts World Las Vegas has a mandatory discounted daily hotel resort fee of US$42 per day, per room. This fee is not reimbursable by CRF. See the FAQ below for a list of services included in the resort fee.
- Early Check-In Fee: If you wish to check in prior to 4:00 PM and your room is available, you may be charged an early check-in fee. CRF will not reimburse you for this fee.
- Additional Occupant Fee: With the exception of children 12 years of age and under staying with an adult, an additional charge of US$35 per night will be assessed for each occupant in excess of two. CRF will not reimburse you for this fee.
- You must email [email protected] immediately with your cancellation request.
- You will not be reimbursed for any expenses — including transportation and hotel cancellation fees — if you cancel your attendance.
- You can cancel without penalty up to three days before your scheduled arrival time. If you cancel less than three days before scheduled arrival, you will be charged the one-night room fee and tax. CRF will not reimburse you for this fee.
Application Process FAQ
The application for Fellows 2024 will open in December 2023.
You will receive three emails:
- First email will confirm that we received your application and that it is under review.
- Second email will either a) confirm your application is complete, or b) notify you your application is incomplete and to provide necessary additional information.
- Third email will notify you if you have been accepted to the course with further instructions, or if your application was declined.
No. Do not contact CRF to confirm your documentation has been received. We will contact you if we have not received your documents by the deadline. Be sure to follow the uploading instructions. Do not mail or fax your documents to CRF.
We will announce notification dates when the application opens in December.
You will receive an acceptance letter via email. This letter will include important information about making travel arrangements (including arrival and departure requirements), and hotel accommodations. Please note, your spot in Fellows 2024 is not confirmed unless and until you make your travel reservation (based on applicable guidelines) by the deadline stated in your acceptance letter.
- If you are accepted, you will receive via email instructions on how to book your travel, the arrival and departure requirements, and information about reimbursement.
- You must book your air travel through Concur, CRF’s travel vendor. You will need to provide valid credit card information. Concur will charge your card after you and CRF approve the itinerary.
You must book your travel by the deadline stated in your acceptance email. If you miss the deadline, your spot at Fellows 2024 will be forfeited and given to another qualifying fellow.
No. Do not book any flights or hotel rooms prior to receiving an acceptance email. You will not be reimbursed unless you use CRF’s specified approved vendors.
CRF will book and pay for three nights of lodging at Resorts World Las Vegas (room and tax only) for the nights of the program only. Do not book your hotel independently. You will receive detailed information in your acceptance email.
Standard rooms at Resorts World Las Vegas are equipped with one king bed or two queen-size beds and will be assigned based on hotel availability. Maximum occupancy per room is four. With the exception of children 12 years of age and under staying with an adult, an additional charge of US$35 per night will be assessed for each occupant in excess of two. CRF will not reimburse you for this fee.
Resorts World Las Vegas has a mandatory daily hotel resort fee of US$42 per day, per room (inclusive of tax). This fee will be charged to your credit card and is not reimbursable by CRF. The fee includes:
- Guest Wi-Fi/Internet Access.
- Smart TV Casting ability.
- Press Reader.
- Unlimited local and toll-free calls.
- 10% off spa or fitness retail merchandise ($100 minimum).
- 5% off spa or fitness treatment ($230 minimum).
- 5% off Cabana Experience ($800 plus food and beverage minimum).
- 5% off 2-Pool Experience ($200 food and beverage minimum).
- You must attend the entire Fellows 2024 program to be eligible for reimbursement. You will not be reimbursed if you do not attend all three days or if you miss sessions or scheduled activities.
- You will be reimbursed the cost of airfare up to US$400 after attending the full meeting and submitting an online evaluation and CRF reimbursement form.
- Fellows who chose to drive to Las Vegas to attend Fellows 2024 will be reimbursed for car mileage (at prevailing IRS rate).
- Additional travel information will be emailed to accepted fellows.
- Full reimbursement instructions will be provided to accepted fellows who attended the program after Fellows 2024.
These expenses are not reimbursable:
- Ground transportation to/from the airport and to/from the hotel.
- Local transportation.
- Hotel incidentals.
- Flight baggage fees.
- Meals outside of course functions.
- Guests' travel and/or expenses.
- Hotel resort fee.
- Extra-person charges at the hotel.
- Cancellation fees imposed by hotel or airline.
- Miscellaneous expenses.

You must cancel your hotel reservation by reaching out to [email protected] — otherwise you will be invoiced for a fee of one night room and tax. CRF will not reimburse you for this charge.
Protecting the health and safety of all attendees remains our top priority. To promote the safety of everyone at the conference, CRF will follow all CDC guidelines, state and local requirements for in-person gatherings, and any additional restrictions in place at the venue at the time of the event. We will update, as necessary, to reflect a changed environment.
You must not attend the conference (or must immediately leave the conference) if you have recently been exposed to COVID-19 or experience symptoms of COVID-19 during or within 10 days of the start of the conference. Symptoms include fever or chills, cough, shortness of breath, fatigue, body aches, headache, new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, runny nose, nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea.
